Farmers seek ban on GM mustard
Kisan Ekta, an umbrella organisation of over 24 farmer organisations, urged the Centre to ban the introduction of genetically modified (GM) mustard in the country. In a joint press statement released by representatives of over 24 farmer organisations here today, they claimed that the technology of GM crops, which was inherent with unnatural processes and risky manipulations, could not be deployed in country’s farms.
