जीएम सरसों को मंजूरी के ख़िलाफ़ किसानों ने दी आंदोलन की धमकी

देश के कई किसान संगठनों ने जीएम सरसों की खेती को मंजूरी देने के प्रस्ताव का विरोध करते हुए इसके खिलाफ दो अक्तूबर, गांधी जयंती से आंदोलन शुरू करने की चेतावनी दी है। इन संगठनों ने सरकार से मांग की है कि जीएम सरसों पर जारी विशेषज्ञ समिति की रिपोर्ट पर सार्वजनिक टिप्पणी के लिए अधिक समय दिया जाए और कोई निर्णय जल्दबाजी में नहीं लिया जाए। भारतीय किसान यूनियन (टिकैत) के प्रवक्ता धर्मेन्द्र मलिक ने कहा, ‘हम जीएम सरसों समेत सभी प्रकार की जीएम फसलों का विरोध करते हैं। जीएम सरसों के विरोध में लखनऊ में दो अक्तूबर से किसान सत्याग्रह किया जाएगा।’ मलिक ने यह भी कहा कि जीएम सरसों पर जारी रिपोर्ट को लेकर सार्वजनिक प्रतिक्रिया के लिये कम से कम 120 दिन का समय दिया जाना चाहिए।

Non-government organisations on Thursday wrote to Union Environment Minister Anil Dave demanding release of complete biosafety data on the Genetically Modified (GM) mustard.
